The Algana Compound is very quietly situated north of the Theban Necropolis directly on the Nile. There is a small supermarket in the nearby village. For larger purchases, a trip to Qurna, El-Be'irat or Luxor is recommended. The ferry on the west bank is about 20 minutes by car. Luxor City can be reached via the bridge in the south in about 1 hour. However, another bridge is currently being built at the level of Karnak, which will significantly improve the connection to Luxor. Luxor Airport will be only 20 minutes away once it is completed.

The sights of the Theban necropolis are 10 to 15 minutes away by car: Medinet Habu, the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the workers' settlement of Deir El-Medina, the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir El-Bahari, the Ramesseum, the tombs of the nobles and much more.
