There are two kinds of building land in Egypt:
- Land that belongs to the Egyptian government which you can lease and use for a specific purpose only.
- Land that is private property and belongs to you after purchasing and enables you to build on.
In Egypt, land is measured in Qirāt. 1 Qirāt (Girāt) = 175 square metres. It is still affordable to purchase a property. However, prices are steadily rising. not least because more ad more Europeans decide to spend the wet and cold months under the Egyptian sun. Nevertheless, housebuilding is inexpensive compared to European prices, and the finished houses fulfil European needs quite well.
